1Giles Kennedy is the founding partner of Giles J Kennedy & Co. He is involved in all areas of litigation but has a particular interest in commercial disputes and all aspects of insurance to include issues in relation to coverage, where he has advised both Plaintiff and Defendants. Over the years Giles has been instructed by various domestic and foreign Insurers and in this regard has defended Solicitors, Accountants, Architects and Engineers.

Giles was educated at St. Vincents CBS, Glasnevin up to Leaving Certificate. After his Leaving Certificate he attended Trinity College, Dublin where he graduated with an Honours Degree in Business Studies. He subsequently attended University College Dublin and the Law School of the Law Society of Ireland. Giles has an Honours Degree in Business Studies, a Masters Degree in Business Administration, is a qualified Solicitor since 1978 and was admitted as an associate of the Institute of Chartered Arbitrators in 1985.

After graduation from Trinity College, Giles initially pursued a career in industry, entering the legal profession in 1975 and qualified as a Solicitor in 1978. In 1980 Giles established the firm of Giles J. Kennedy & Co. who practice from 81 Eccles Street, Dublin 7.

As a young man Giles represented St. Vincent’s C.B.S., Na Fianna and Dublin University in Gaelic Games. In addition to his interest in Gaelic Sport Giles represented Dublin University and Monkstown Rugby Clubs. While retired from active participation Giles is still a member of Na Fianna G.A.A. Club and Monkstown Rugby Club. Due to his involvement as Legal Adviser to the Olympic Council of Ireland he has continued his lifelong interest in Irish and International Sport.
